Lean and Mean
In terms of features, Photoshop beats ImageMachine hands down. But when it
comes to batch performance, the tables are turned. ImageMachine takes an
ultra-streamlined approach to image processing, by leveraging the processing
power of the CPU and GPU concurrently, and offloading separate image
processing tasks to multiple processing elements if available.
The Little Engine That Could
The test below was conducted using a batch of 20 JPEG images from a digital
camera, each 2048x1536 pixels in size. The job of the batch was to increase
the image contrast by 10%, downscale the images to a width of 800
pixels, and save them as JPEG files with a quality of 70/100. ImageMachine
was twice as fast as Photoshop in this test.
